Default Bow river float

So I would like to float from highway 2 bridge south of Calgary but never done it before. Where do I get out and how long does it take. Maybe an all day float and also a half day if there is a spot. I'm not being guided so that's why I need to know access spots. Thanks

South of Highway #2

If you put the names into the google machine, you can see the launches on the satellite view.
Fish creek is a good concrete ramp
Police and Mackinnon are both rough launches off of gravel.

Full Day float:

Put in: Policemans Flats

Take out: Mackinnons Flats

Half Day float

This will assume that you will not be stopping, will be long half day
Put in: Glenmore

Take out: Fish Creek

If you plan to stop, and work some water, this is a shorter float and lets you spend some time.

Put in: Fish Creek

Take out: Policemans flats

I based this on a drift boat. If you are going in a pontoon, there are other floats you can do, that require a rough launch, but are totally doable.

Also I will mention: if you plan on taking out a police, be very careful. There is big rock which can lead to disastrous results if you are not ready for it.

It is no problem launching from there as you won't go near it though.

Just be aware coming if you choose that float.
