Default Mulley deer questions

So I'm new to hunting these Mulley deer creatures. I can hunt stone sheep or moose anytime but am unfamiliar with habits of deer. I'm looking at hunting WMU 308 during bow season. I've done some reading and listening but still have one question. What altitude do these creatures prefer? During my scouting venture I camped at 6000' (tree line) . Where are guys finding deer throughout the season?
Thanks for any input.

don't think they carry altimeters..........you can find them from tree line to the flat prairie, though in my experience, they like the foothills/prairie more than up high.

........sit on a high hill at daybreak and sunset and use your glasses.

What kind of amateur deer you guys have in this province. Some guys will say tree line, but on a low laying hill. I had lots of elk sign up there. But I was a long hike in for an elk. Unless it's a big bull...
I will keep my eyes low then. And yeah I live behind the glass.
Cheers

I have seen dandy mule bucks at, or just below treeline in behind the Blackstone Gap, have also seen some pretty nice ones at the bottom of the Red Deer river valley..

Have you been in 308?

It would take a deer two minutes to walk from the bottom to the top.

I feel like I'm nibbling bait....

And for my first year hunting in Alberta I "threw a dart at the map". This year I am more concerned about learning a little about the animals and areas. And less about a kill. I have some area close to town that I can hunt as well. For an easier kill.

Just a heads up for you but you need to be drawn to hunt mule deer in 308 archery or gun.

Antlerless mule, whitetail and elk no draw. I have done some reading. I am bow hunting. Thanks for the heads up. And like I said... this year is a learning year for sure.

You'll learn a few things about Alberta grizzlies in 308.

Pekan, you made me laugh pretty hard at your comment, well done haha

Where I hunt, Mule deer like the valley, mix of willow cover and grassland, keep close to the creek and sloughs. Don't know much about Muleys in the mountains or foothills though.

They tend to hang out wherever Pokémon are. Keep that phone up and search hard. Lol. Sorry, but I had to. Mule deer are where you find them, neither up or down but both.
