Video: Decent Bull Elk near Turner Valley
Was out for a drive down some back roads the other night and saw a small herd of elk up on a hilltop several hundred yards away. Had my camera, diaphragms, and grunt tube, so figured I'd send out a bugle and some cow calls. The elk heard the calls and immediately ran to within 100 yards of my position. From there I got into position behind a row of trees and tried calling this bull closer. He wasn't bugling yet but let out some chuckles. Also saw him and a small spike bull gently sparring, and he was working a scrape pretty hard. Just a few more weeks and I'll be out with bow in hand to chase down some bulls nearby!

About 100 yards. Had a vehicle pass by on the road and scared the elk off.

Ahh I recognize that area. Is lots of elk west of turner valley. Would be nice to be a landowner out there.
