I agree that was the worst thing...the bravado and look at me got the better of him.

Sad part is I can see this changing bear hunting over baits in Alberta too....if the NDP starts rolling with this.

The issue is it was completely legal....so the next time a big name has a hunt on film are the antis going to win then too?

The truth being that a lot of hunters don't really like these guys either, never mind the anti hunters.
Can't blame the anti 's for everything.

Don't care how "big" of a name has a hunt on film....he acts like a jack ass while wearing/using equipment with his sponsors name front and center, 9/10 they will drop him, don't care what sport it is. You can't blame them for not wanting to be associated with someone that acts like that

How many of you have seen the video from this spring where Cam Hanes chases his bear after shooting it....and approaches and pets it to try and calm it as it bawls and dies, he said its not the first time. Some things are not meant for the mainstream media.

I wonder what the antis think of that?

Yeah seen em both...while Cam is a standup guy I don't think that should have gone public. Wasnt wild about the bowmar film either...Donnie Vincent's film 'who we are' is phenomenal. Need more guys like him representing hunting...

X2, maybe a few others will learn as well. Remember the guy twisting the head off a duck ? Youtube is not your friend.

Turns out only his wife was officially sponsored...but she was the camera lady so she paid the price for being involved.

Yeah he's going to learn there's a difference between legal/illegal and right/wrong in public opinion. Too bad really but does anyone believe this was a coincidence? Given that new wildlife regs coming out next year, I'm fairly sure someone (AEP biologist anyone? The ones that can't find grizzlys...?) pointed the video out to the ..."journalist" in question. There's been plenty of spear kills, gory vids, and other stuff on YouTube for years. Funny how right at the precise time antihunters could gain ground in Alberta, this shows up

Nice shot I say.
Lets feed the antis to the bears.

Lets show vids of chickens headless and cows getting throats slit while still alive. Humans got this far by hunting and chucking spears.

This is so stupid. World is gone too soft.
Its legal. Story ends.

Wow, so many cannibals here. Sad to see.

There is a big difference between publicly admiring the guy, and publicly shaming him. What these 2 actions have in common however, is that neither needs to be done. Especially since no one asked.
Shameful how easily we outdoorsmen get played.

It's all fun and games until the sponsors start to bail.

Look what happen to Tiger when he showed his putter around town.

I don't know who these Bowmars are but they are not very smart.
U wanna be famous ?, well you're famous now. Dumb-azz's
And not because of the hunt, a legal hunt, it's all the other garbage that came with it.

You got to understand your audience and that means all, some are ok with some stuff while others are not etc so when you put the show on sit back and look at it from all angles, perspectives etc...very fine line for sure.
Only a few have class the rest are feeding the anti's etc....

Ya that was a bad year. Tiger had to many women and the Sask. Roughriders had to many men.

I cant find it on Youtube anymore. It was a good video. Wish the entire outdoor community would stick behind this guy. Getting excited about harvesting an animal shouldnt be anything to be ashamed of. In my mind if you feel shame for getting excited you shouldnt be hunting. The post above that talks about the world going soft is so true. Its beginning to be a sad world we live in.

Isn't that the problem in the first place is videos getting posted?

Well it won't be legal for long. YOU may find it "stupid" but the vast majority of the voting public doesn't agree with you so.........

This whole situation makes me angry. I just had a conversation with a non hunter and i can totally see the inappropriate parts of the video and how people are interpreting in their own way and spreading rumors of things without any facts. Media is taking big strides in helping the antis. I sure hope this does not ruin good things in this province for all of us. I dare say we will end up with larger problems ranging from poaching to large increases of human bear activity if things continue going the way they appear to be.

I think the issue here is the double edged sword social media has become.
It's great for getting ideas out and communication.
But stuff like this gets posted, which was really meant to only appeal to other hunting enthusiasts (in the old days you'd only brag to your friends)...someone you don't want seeing it does...and boom in a day it's gone viral.
We are unfortunately involved in a sport that the majority of people don't get, and of them quite a few are vehemently against.
We gotta be very careful of how we use social media otherwise we're shooting ourselves in the foot (pun intended) in regards to our future hunting/shooting rights.
When it comes to our politicians...they are always going to cater to what the majority feels...it's what keeps them in power.

The majority of people eat meat and know it comes from living animals. That means the majority of people are natural allies of hunters, even if they don't want/like to see things die.

Any backlash for Steve Rinella or Remi Warren when they kill bears and post vids breaking them down to eat? Nope.

How private citizens handle themselves after killing something is the business of their conscience and the law and no one else. But the minute you decide to be a public person and post it online, you'd better be aware that the world is going to demand you at least appear respectful of the animal you just killed.

It's stupid to stand for what you believe in?

What is stupid is to capitulate to those spewing uneducated ideology.

What is stupid is that the decision to ban spears is being issued as a dictatorial order by our great socialist leader.
An order based on emotional whining predominately sourced from outside of the country.

It is stupid to think that if you give in to the smaller issues as a token of appeasement that these people will cease their efforts to eliminate everything they disagree with.
