I bought it premade from the Honda dealer in Edmonton. It bolted right on using existing bolts on the bottom. There are lots of places that make various configurations. Mine is a pretty simple one piece that I chose because it was really smooth as well as simple to install. Let's u slide over logs much better too. I bought it 18 years ago but if I remember right they only cost about $100 bucks or so.

Almost there. Just working with the sheet metal fabricator to finish the topper before sending it for powder-coating, waiting to install the custom roof when it shows up from Texas, and mount the chart plotter. Then I can finally break it in before swapping the ECU and clutch for 110HP, and get out running and gunning on some walleye lakes.

If the drifts get hard, and are anything over 18", you are going to have a bad day as the tires will crunch through the drift and you will be hung up, and you will then spin down to ice with no traction.

Odds are you will not have a shovel with you, and the best you can do is to drill a partial hole and leave the auger in the hole to winch against. Then turn around and head back to safety. Or at least that's what I did.

Carry a short chunk of 4x4 fence post, 3ft or so. Drill a hole, wrap the winch cable around the chunk of wood, drop it in the hole and your done

I use a metal bar. It takes up less space. Never used it yet though.

I use a polaris 550 fan cooled. It does not need "a lot of snow" . As a matter of fact it needs no snow to cool the engine and with extra bogies it needs very little to lubricate the sliders . Any liquid cooled will need a lot of snow to keep cool .
