Default Chin Lake

After getting skunked with Wayne and the boys on Fri. we hit Chin Sat. morning. The wind final quit blowing. Still with only 4"to5" of ice we caught 2 pike. 1 was small the other almost 34".Caught a few before xmas aswell.1 was a 18" walleye caught on a 6" smelt .

After cleaning the 33" pike I found this 6" peice of whitefish tail in its belly. Looks like it would have been a 1&1/2 lbs whitefish.

Default Nice

Good to see you caught some fish there. If you work that spot in the pic hard you will eventually end up with a good one or two.

definitely some nice fish in that area, I saw a couple pike heads on the shore there 2 years ago that would have been easy 25 pound plus fish. glad to see your skunk didnt last.

Be careful out on the west end of Chin.

Stopped by there yesterday and it is only a few inches of ice right off of the dam and You could see a ton of open water. If there was a boat launch you could easily head out for a day on a boat.

Good looking fishing Dago.

Glad to see someone is getting fish since I can't seem to hook anything in the last 2 days.

Default Lots of big pike

That area we catch 20+ lb pike quite regular in the spring and summer out at that area. Funny part is you can go out in the summer and catch half a dozen 20 lbers before lunch and work that area and get a bunch of wallys at the same area. I suppose maybe that is why they are there.

Careful out there! Lakes in that area had lots of open water only 3 days ago. Be safe...

Pick a spot where there is access.Find a point and fish in 10' to 20' of water.Lay a 10" smelt on the bottom of the lake. It's getting to be that time of the year when that lake shuts down.By Feb.that lake is death.
