The only good news is it is not taking away lake frontage as it is west of Zeiner park. But it will definitely increase water usage and fishing pressure. And the run off of ground water contaminates running in to tide creek and then eventually into Pigeon lake

It's also right beside the AFGA habitat land that was purchased a number of years ago, as the creek on it is one of the prime hatchery spots for walleye.

Good think we did, as I wonder if it too would be "slated for development".

x2, the lakes and destinations we have outside the major city centers is all we have left to the imagination, if this keeps up may as well give up fishing and many other activities, so redicilus, stop building anywhere and everywhere and give your head a shake.

Default cess pool

I haven't been there for a couple of years now, but the last time I was there the algae was just gross. I can't imagine the amount of money they are going to charge for a condo out that way.
Anyone been out to Pine Lake, talk about developement gone crazy. FS

Haven't been to pigeon in a about 7-8 years. Place was ruined back then.

Pine Lake is a gong show. Took the boat out on the water on a saturday afternoon. BIG mistake. Even with a 22' i/o, I did not feel safe at all, we quickly got off the lake. Way to much traffic. Although during the week the place isn't bad at all. Still not my cup of tea, but the In-laws have a place out there, so we're forced to go there.

There's some serious greed in that part of Alberta, seems to me every lake had some sort of new subdivison proposed when i was living up there over the past few years. I couldn't get back down south quick enough, down here ive been fishing twice this winter and in both cases had entire lakes to myself (unless i count the elk feeding along the shoreline). The counties have to decide the environment is important, until then, increasing tax base is their only objective. Hope they put in effort in this development to protect the lake.

That's the unfortunate part of living in central alberta. There really isn't very many usable lakes. And by usable I mean swimmable.

A good buddy of mine was involved in the newer development on the golf course at Pine, years ago. He still owns 3 units. Nobody wants them.... I foresee the same fate for Pigeon. Those are gross lakes.

There's some serious greed in ... Alberta

The cause of so many of our problems.

People in Alberta seem to think they can do what ever they want in many areas. And if they are making money off it then it takes big presidence over anything else.

It is amazing how people will build a $400,000 home next to a lake that has turned into a poisonous sewer pond.

the development is behind zeiner and Gillwood beach/Fisher home which has no public access except for a shallow boat launch. to the south of that is the marsh and feed creek where the fish spawn so I doubt they will be changing that.

Maybe they will go through the camp ground but that's just going to ruin it with all the traffic.
