Default Skatable bare ice?

Anyone come across any lakes with somewhat smooth and bare ice the kids could skate on while I fish within 2 hours of calgary.

Thanks all

Really, it's always been at least knee deep snow when I go up there, makes for really fun sled drags.

I drove by Barrier and it looked pretty clear for the most part. Went fishing at Upper Kananaskis and there were some people skating there. It was fairly smooth with patches of snow. Although it was snowing when I left.

I’m not sure if it’s bare but the slough just south of red deer lake community association. It’s just off 22x south of Calgary. We’ve been there in past years
And it was great.
