Down in Stettler, can hit a mad huge flock of Snow geese, but only have my Canada decoys, will they come in to those?

Pretty tough odds, snows are very gregarious in nature, that’s why hard core snow hunters have a pile of decoys, rags, sill’s etc.
Not to say a few flocks might come by outta habit, but as soon as live birds get settled in a field, the majority of the birds will go to the white.

About 5000 birds, think we shouldn't bother?

I detest the bloody things, so my answer may not be what you’re after.

It's always worth a shot, unless you have something to fall back on. I've killed piles of white geese without same species decoys. You aren't going to get bigger groups to come in, but singles and smaller groups of three or so will buzz you within gun range.

Your best hope is that they have some juvie birds in there. Look for the darker grey feathers. Not saying you won't kill em but just be prepared to be frusterated. I have come to the conclusion that the reason us crazy idiots still chase the stupid things is revenge for the anger and frusteration on past hunts.

If there’s more than one large flock, set up in between them and you will get a lot of action as they back and forth.

All I can say is that the birds we encountered this week kept changing fields from evening to morning. Very few came back to the previous nite's feed.

Tons flew way up, on a mission. Got 3 Canada's and a couple Magpies. Not what I was hoping for, but good to get out with a buddy I only see a few times a year.

Getting home and seeing the hordes of fat greaters that dropped in made me feel better. Great weather all week will have the combines flying.
