Default Big buck down

After 7 days of solid hunting i finally got this deer iv been chasing for 2 years, could not be more happy. After dealing with a track hoe knocking over my treestand it all paid off. Sitting in my stand i watched a nice 150+ 5x5 chasing a doe up and down a small strip of bush, i threw everything at him, grunted, used the primos doe bleat can, rattled nothing could turn him off that doe, it was about 15 min later i heard something coming in behind me, looked back and it was the 6x6 coming in, he made a scrape about 20 yards from my stand, no shot as he was still in the thick buck brush. He then started making is way in just as he almost stepped into my shooting lane i drew back, he then decided to turn and coming in directly behind my stand through the thick bush, so i was forced to let down, reposition, and re draw my bow, all the while he is 10 yards. A small basketball sized hole through the willows was all i had for a shot as he stepped into the hole i grunted at him and he stopped. CRACK!! the rest is history, quick score on the rackulator says 172 gross and 156 net.......could'nt be happier with my season.

Great job Ben that is an awesome bowzone buck. When you put the effort and time in like you do good things will happen, great dedication. You should be extremely proud and remember this moment because it could be hard to beat. Great buck and good shootin. You got me this year for size but there is always next year.

Sweeet to finally get him after a couple years of knowing he's out there.
Those big ones normally turn into "ghostly" creatures of the night.
Nice Pics! Congrats!

Nice buck. Congrats!

I have that same grunt - "buck roar" i think it is. I think in your story it may have brought in the big guy you arrowed...

But in general, do you find that thing works?

I really like the tone of grunt you get out that buck roar tube, i dont make the " buck roar" sound, iv personally never heard a deer make that sound ever lol. Back to the question yes, in october i grunted 3 times with that call and sucked that 6x6 into 33 yards, just no shot, and then i used it in combination with my rattleing antlers in november when i arrowed him. I also called in my whitetail buck from lastyear with the same call, it seems to work well for me!
