24 Hour Indoor Archery Range?
Just curious, would you guys pay to join an indoor archery range that was open 24 hours? Target Range only, nothing else. 20, 30 and maybe 40 yards. South Calgary.
You would have to buy an annual membership. What would you be willing to pay?

This is an interesting thread...
I have seen things like this before... everybody is interested and lots of people all say they are in until you book the place and make arrangements and suddenly all the interested people bail out, or are too busy, and you get the sorry....buts...
Also once you get it booked and settled for annual membership then you get the people taht only want to pay 1/2 price as they are only there for winter, or want pro-rating etc....
There is a facility (CRAC) in east edmonton that has 24 hour access to an indoor 20 yard range and the cost is $400 a year.
The key is to build a junior program and find ways to get families involved in archery so it is more of a social thing than just archery!...
If I was in calgary, i would be interested but it would ahve to be better value than Calgary Archery Centre.

Capital Region Archery does this but offers programs for the kids which is the majority of the club. Maybe check them out to get some imfo.

Niche Market
I hear you. And I wouldn't want to take a way from the great programs and bow shops that are already out there, but I know it would fit for me. I would like to be able to go early in the morning on the way to work, or late in the evening after the kids are in bed.
But I am probably the exception.

I'll have to watch this thread as we are about to open a 24 hour indoor archery range in Fernie, BC! Trying to work out the $ for an annual membership.

The price for an adult membership at CRAC is $330 with $50 back if you volunteer for 5 hours over the course of the year. This cost includes weekly classes through the winter months (for youth and adults) and allows members access to our rental equipment 24/7. It's been a huge draw for families that way.
Also, the club is moving to a new location in April. It is a much newer facility that offers a second level for viewing and still allows it's members 24/7/365 access.
Here's a link to the website. If you're in and around the Edmonton area, it's a great facility and a very positive club.

In terms of the 24/7 access, I have personally used it quite a bit outside what you might consider to be regular shop hours (say 11-9 weekdays, 10-5 Saturday and possibly Sunday). Not having a pro shop along with the club has it's pros and cons but overall I think it works very well.

the medicine hat saamis archers in medicine hat have an indoor range accessible to members 24 hours a day. i love it. i havent shot at 3 am yet, but the freedom to shoot when i feel like it is an incredible convenience. i likely dont use it as often as i should...or would really like to....but i have used it at hours that i otherwise wouldnt be able to. i consider it a privelege to belong to a club that caters to its members this way.

I would join and cost is not so much of an issue as is value per dollar. I would be happy to pay more for a place well put together with ample lanes and good maintenance. And of course location. Build close to Douglasdale and I'd
be there 5 night's a week.

if it was in Calgary north west. I love shooting at calgary archery center .buts a good haft hour drive without traffic. it s nice to have the proshop right there when your shooting to try thing like releases or bows or buy new arrows. cochane club was cool but its only tusedays and saturdays , i think.

CAC is the better range. Can shoot out to 40 yards and more shooting lanes.

The cost of membership doesn't compare to the cost of traveling to a place to shoot for me. Closest place for indoor range is an hour one way, it don't take many trips to burn $300. So I'd gladly pay a membership if it was camrose area.
