Default Eskimo Auger repair?

I have an older model eskimo auger. At the end of last hard water season I lent it to my dad for a weekend and it came back broken and in pieces. The main issue is that the plastic piece that is used to wind up the pull coard broke somehow. Does anyone know 1) if eskimo would still have parts for older model augers 2) or if there is a small engine repair shop somewhere that may be able to fix it?

Thanks in advance guys

If you need parts, go to "Get Eskimo.com" - you can also call at 1-800-345-6007.

If you need repairs, I believe The Lawnmower Hospital in Edmonton does work on them. 780-437-1851.

Exactly right ....

You can also get the part number from Eskimo and try and find parts on the internet ...... it is likely a standard recoil unit probably $20 or so with free shipping on Amazon or Ebay.

I would just change out the entire recoil - new rope, recoil spring, housing, pin without the chances of a catastrophic recoil repair (as anyone knows what happens when you do it wrong ... lol).

If you order from Eskimo your self, the shipping will cost lots of $$$$$ but you will have it in about 2 weeks. Should be easy to change out your self.

I had issues with mine simmilar to yours. My rope kept breaking and evenually it wrecked the coils inside. I ordered a new one and changed out the rope for paracord. No problems since!
