Default front load washer

our front load Kenmore washer won't turn on unless we unplug it for a few mins. then plug it back in then all the lights work and machine starts up ..
Any ideas?

How old is it ? Past warranty I'm guessing . I've had good luck on youtube going to Repair Clinic they have a lot how to fix it videos and Kenmore seams to have a good share. As well from there you can probably find other links or of course there are likely countless other sites/answers of the world wide wacky web . Good luck

First I would check and make sure it is level. Some of these machines are very sensitive to being out of balance and well not run if not reset. Not like to old washing machines that would walk across a room if unbalanced.

Try googling the make/model for troubleshooting. Had a problem (draining) with ours and wouldn't you know it the problem and fix was easy after interwebbing the problem.

Kenmore is built by several different companies. My guess is that it is probably a Frigidaire and will most likely require the motor control board. The Frigidaire unit where very prone to this. Board locks up when you disconnect and reconnect it reboots the software.
