You would wonder why this would even be a option with Canadian banks always having record profits.

And if you did, you probably wouldn't be foolish enough to keep it all in one bank.

For what it's worth ... the banks here in Canada are so well supervised, monitored and regulated, that we'd be more likely to get struck by lightning, than having one of our major banks go bankrupt.
