Default What are your favorite Greek foods?

I am gearing up for a Greek Feast this weekend for my son's 19th birthday.
I am re-creating some of his favorites from a trip to Greece in 2006.

Just finished a sample batch of Spanokopita- spinach and feta pie

He wants:
Avgolemono
Tarama
Dolmades
Keftedes
Home baked pitas
Tsatziki
Trio of soulvaki
Roast Leg of Lamb(studded with rosemary and smoked over olive wood)
Greek Style lemon potatoes
Pilaf
Saganaki

What are your favorites?

ooo I love greek food! I'd have to say:

Spanokopita
Humas w/fresh pita
Lamb leg w/roasted potatoes
Baklava - Phyllo dough, honey & chopped nuts

now I'm hungry . . .

Default Greek food to die for

Arni Kaleftiko - just like on Cyprus ( stolen lamb slow cooked in the ground )
Hummus with pita just out of the brick oven, some tsatziki too
Greek salad with humungeous Kalamata olives
don't get me started - I'm salivating already.

When ever I would be in Africa or the M/E working for extended times and then heading home we always flew into Crete for a couple days of ****-up. First order; six pack of ice cold Heinekens from the hotel kiosk followed by Gyros stuffed with french fries accompanied with 2 Amstel lights and then Greek salad..........Heaven!!

So...Gyro appetizers and Greek for salad. My Chica marinates lamb chops in Kraft Greek salad over night then on to the barbecue med/hi heat with meat thermometer. When they hit rare-med their ready to go!!

You haven't lived until you have had a Gyro with pita, stuffed with fries, all freshly made.

Avgolemono
Taramosalata
Full lamb on the spit done in a lemon glaze sauce
Saganaki
Kyiana
Pastigio
Tyrokaftero
Tyropita

Styfatha
Calamarakia stuffed with rice and cheese and veg
And any seafood done in authentic greek style cooking .

Mrs Omega and her gal friends went out for Greek food last night at Manies on 17th and took pity on me at home manning the smoker and brought me an appetizer platter care package.
Yum

Now I have this massive Greek Feast idea bubbling inside my head.

I have a serious craving for Taramosalata right now- Just waiting for the deli to open down the street this morning so I can grab some Tarama and make up a batch for dinner with fresh pita
