Default Spring Rams

Took these pics while self isolating in my back yard near Radium Hot Springs. The one standing up in the first pic is nice wide ram; the lone one facing the camera is a fighter and has two big chips off his horns. Looks like they all had a good winter.

There have to be worse places to self isolate.

Gorgeous looking Rams I couldn’t imagine having those wondering around my back yard like the Whitetails in mine.

Default Heavy horns

If your horns are too heavy just find a nice log to rest them on!

Great looking rams. I assume they come down from the high country to get the new nutrition on lower levels in the spring?

Yes and no. Radium has a resident herd of sheep of mostly nannies and kids. The big boys tend to be scarcer all year long and hang out in Kootenay National Park. They do show up in the village or on the way up to Redstreak on occasion. You see the younger males hang out in the village more often though.

So does this herd get hunted at all? I Have always wondered as I have seen up to 25 rams bedded in town in one spot. LEM archery hunt perhaps in a few spots?

Nice rams in your BC pics. Lots of drop which equates to lots of inches.
Thanks for sharing.
