Default CF Veteran Fishing Licences?

Does Alberta offer lifetime fishing licences for CF members? I know Saskatchewan does but I can't find any info for Alberta.

Do you have to be a Saskatchewan resident to get one? Be nice since that's where I served when I was in.

It looks like a pretty simple process, even remotely.

Record of service document (eg Cert of Retirment)
Valid photo ID
and a HAL number.

You served in SK! Where if you don't mind me asking?

Wondering if you were in Dundurn and chased walleye on "the Strap"

Thanks for your service btw!

Yw I was posted to Moose Jaw 5 years pretty much. Fished Buffalo pound and caught some awesome pike and a few other interesting species.

I was in the Jaw for 13 years...-30 or +30 with 60 click winds everyday

the tar mack was congested with 60 jets give or take a few....

buffalo pound come august got real interesting but spring time some real slobs are caught....been back a few times and dont miss the town but the area for hunting was a gem

now I take advantage of the free angling license to hit the northern lakes etc
another beauty area to fish.

Cool..........I remember stopping to watch the pilots do touch and go landings back in the 80's. If I parked in the right place, it looked like they'd knock the stacks off my semi! I haven't been past that way in a long, long time!

My 2nd oldest brother just discovered the free fishing and hunting for vet's in SK. We're from Saskatoon originally and our mom still lives there. My bro retired last year after almost 35 years service (34+) Took him (and the other two brothers) hunting with me last year, got him his first whitey buck and he's gungho to go now..........LOL. Was out hunting spring bear where he lives in ON and now he's talking hunting in SK for free as well as here again with me and other two bro's.

It's worth noting that all 3 brothers (and myself) bagged a nice whitey last fall and, younger brother got his first moose! Also of note, all 3 brothers bought new rifles immediately after getting home..........LOL

It was definitely a trip! We haven't spent that much time together since the late 70's. We're all looking forward to this fall.

It's sort of disappointing to learn that Sask is one of the few provinces offering this, maybe it's time to mention this oversight to our MLA's? Can't be getting out done by Saskatchewan! (lol, just kidding - mostly) Even if it's just fishing licenses and wildlife certificates, it's a great gesture towards our veterans!

I also liked when I was cruising around in BC in the little roadster and places had Vet parking too....kinda nice....close to entrances and very large parking spaces too.
