Default Waterhen Lake.

Planning for a trip there this spring and looking for information on the average date for ice being off the lake .

Usually off just before may long. I'd say average would be the 15th or so.

Walleye are decent in June. Definitely better pike lakes in the area

If the water is high enough to get into little Waterhen - early in spring - that's the ticket on that lake.

Inflow from the Waterhen river on the south side is a good spot to pick up walleye in spring.

For pike, there is a good weed bed in deeper water near the “lighthouse”on the east side of the lake, north of the channel into little waterhen.

Caught a 22 lb pike in Waterhen back in the 90’s. Ice fishing South East lake (east of waterhen river). Haven’t fished that lake for long time. Enjoyed both North/South campgrounds.

There's also the point at Buffalo Bill's Point - straight North from Tawawa on the east shore. Work around that point and you can pick up some really nice Pike and Walleye. Caught a 9lb walleye and 14lb pike on two passes (with 30 minutes of each other) in that area trolling a large lil' Ernie crankbait.
