Default RPAL wait times

I sent in a new application for an RPAL to replace my PAL. Checking online it was received on Sept. 9th and since Oct. 20th has had no updates. Meanwhile my PAL expired back in January. I have called a number of times and it has been with the Alberta CFO since December. Each time I call they just say call back in 4-6 weeks. What is the timeframe people have been running into lately?

I did a renewal on a RPAL and was 3 to 4 weeks. My wife did a renewal on hers and it was close to 12 months.

I asked on dropping the R and just going with a PAL and they told me I would be treated as a new application and the waiting period would be longer.
