Default Snipe Lake

It's been a long winter, need to start thinking about spring. Would like to boat more at snipe. Have a 19ft Lund, do you think any issues there launching?

There is a launch just west of the Resort on Township Road 710. The access is a dirt road about 70 yards long and there is no formal boat ramp...you just back in to the lake. Everyone parks on the side and there is no room to turn around. You usually have to back in carefully from the township road. It's miserable when it's busy unless you are really proficient at launching your boat. Even then it's not much fun.

The RV Resort is supposed to have a public boat launch you can pay a fee to launch at, but I don't think they've opened it to the public yet due to the logistics of letting the public in and out of the resort.

Finally, there is a boat launch up in the northeast corner of the lake of Township Road 713. It's a lot of gravel around the lake from Sunset House or south from High Prairie, but it's supposed to be the best launch on the lake. Too bad it's in the least accessible place on the lake.

With the low water level at Snipe the NE boat launch is not nice for launching a bigger boat. Private campground and they do charge a small fee to launch a boat.

The "main" launch off 710 is absolutely horrible when the lake is low as well.
