Default Just couldn't wait

With hunting seasons drawing near and all the hype for upcoming waterfowl I have been just chomping at the bit to get out with my new bird dog. So when I saw pigeons were flocking to our greenfeed field I couldn't help it. This morning before work max and I grabbed a mojo and some shells and setup on the edge of the greenfeed to see if we could get lucky and pull in some pigeons.
I was amazed to find the pigeons extremely willing to come to the mojo and had some of the most amazing decoyed birds right in my lap.
With max being not even a year old and me being a new dog owner and trainer, she blew me away with her retrieving skills . One volley she went back and forth retrieving 3 birds back to back like a pro. Plenty of things to work on with her but overall I couldn't be happier.

Awesome. Labs are a lot smarter than we sometimes give them credit for. Way to start her off. I hope you two have fun this hunting season.

I never thought of that and will give it a go... grain fed farm squab are delicious

"Squab is a young, domestic pigeon with a delicious, succulent dark meat that is also quite delicate, unlike that of any other poultry"

Default Wow

Such an awesome thread. You have a gorgeous dog. Something tells me she won the parent lottery and will have a great life ahead of her.

I just got back from training my lab. He is my best friend and an integral part of our family life. They are special animals.

Best of luck this season as you and your pup make wonderful memories together.

These are some of the nicest pics I’ve seen on here in awhile. Not only are you the coyote master but pigeon master as well.
