My wife tried on at least different 20 pairs often saying “this is pretty good” to which I would tell her “no. Pretty good isn’t good enough. It has to be perfect” . Insulated is key for most women, they don’t usually produce heat like we do even when moving. IMO Minimum 400g but 800 isn’t out of line if you are talking about November. Also make sure she has good medium or heavy wool socks, and is wearing them at the time of trying on boots.
