I have seen areas I hunt devastated by supplemental tags over the last several years. Greedy"Hunters"with a couple of does/fawns each, its a disgrace.

They should buy some beef if its only the meat they want, and limit their harvest, before the deer "Hunting"is destroyed by the cull.
wow i guess that makes you the better person in life

Truth is you can see major fluctuations in deer populations within a single WMU. I would not doubt it if numbers were down in his area

I don’t hunt out east but I spend a ton of time in my area scouting and running cams. There are pockets in the western supplemental zones that are completely out of whack ratio wise.

I would say without a doubt supplemental tags can have a negative impact. I just hope the increase in WMUs with supplemental spreads the pressure but I dread the second tag.

I will echo please use moderation. There is nothing wrong with harvesting a doe but don’t over do it

Not at all.My concern is for the future of hunting, as opposed to culling just for some meat. I have no problem with some doe harvest just not a mass slaughter.

I think many true hunter/conservationists think the same.

I live in the heart of east central Alberta and travel many miles on the back roads on a daily basis. I’ve done it for the last 26 years, and am an avid hunter. I know this by experiance. There’s no doubt about it.

LOL - I've had that link bookmarked for years. I don't recall when or how I found it but once I did, I bookmarked it immediately. One stop for all your sporting information!

Kinda hard to fathom this. And this is only one location as well (as who knows there may have been several locations like this).
