Seems to me I saw a Calgary store saying they had two bricks they wanted 125.00 ea for, think they were large rifle and magnum large rifle. I never shop at that store anyway. Seens some ridiculous stuff at the couple of gun shows I went to this year.

Default don't complain

$125/1000 for large rifle or mag primers is cheap. Replacement cost and there aren't any is $180+/1000

I saw some BR-4's a few weeks ago priced @ 21.99/100-219.99/1000 plus tax, thought that was bad enough.
Paid $126.00/1000 for Fed. 210M's early spring and was happy to get them, $86.00/1000 for 205M's last Fall.

With Federal telling vendors that there will be no more primers until at least late 2023, prices will continue to climb, as supplies run out. Some of us have been predicting this for a couple of years, anyone who didn't listen, will pay very high prices, or do without.

I was at the Medicine Hat show also. As usual lots of overpriced guns and ammo. One vender was asking $45.00 for a box of .410 ammo. Wow.

Gun Show vendors have been ripping people off since the beginning of time.

I listened. My kids will inherit thousands of large rifle and lr magnum primers…most bought for $40-50 per thousand. I may even sell a few thousand off.

Cabela's BR-4 small rifle primers $19.99 a pack of 100

I bought a brick for half that a few years ago thought I was getting ripped off turned out to be an investment.

I just sold a brick to a friend for $100, and then I discovered another brick, mixed in with my swap meet stuff that one is going back on the shelf. I also found over a brick of 6-1/2 primers, that I forgot that I had.

Saw a brick going for $400 on another site this weekend.

I keep telling the wife if I sold my scotch, firearms and reloading components I could probably retire. They’ve increased in value over past 5 years way more than my high paid advisor has done with my retire savings!

LOL I've actually had the same thought about some of my unopened scotch too.

Lets say primers were around $8-12 per 100 pre "shortage" Anyone asking more than $20-$25 now are real pieces of work and I hope they never have a rifle shoot true again.
A while back I realized I had way more than my needs and sold a bunch of components and powder at cost to help out fellow shooters/hunters out. These guys charging ridiculous amounts for components and ammo I put them in the same category of people that were buying excessive amounts of toilet paper and cleaning supplies in the early stages of the pandemic and reselling for way more.

I'd love to score some large and or magnum rifle primers. If anyones willing to part with some or know of a dark corner where there is some, shoot me a pm if you're willing to. Missed out on what ended up being the last shipment or around there anyway.

Default I suggest you boycott Gunshows

You may not escape with your wallet or virginity. Nobody is forcing you to attend or buy.If you didn't have the forethought to put components away for today's situation you just failed survivor 101... take up archery. Blaming others because didn't is simply gas lighting. Woulda coulda shouda but didn't.

For the people waiting for prices to drop , don't hold your breath, they go up during every shortage, then they level out, but they haven't dropped significantly in the past, when supply caught up.

Well I guess being down to my last 5,000 primers I'll be OK for a while, I have seen ridiculous prices on all sorts of reloading supplies, saw IMR4350 8 lb keg for $2,000, Retumbo for $275 / lb at an auction so add 23.5% to that for buyers fee, GST and credit card people are stupid to pay those prices.

Anybody that hasn't seen this coming over the past 2 years has been sleeping, it's not getting better for a while yet so those that didn't stock up be prepared to bend over. I have watched 12ga target loads go from $70 per flat to $120 per flat in 12 months which is almost double the price but no where near the 400% or more increase that powder and primers are demanding.

Oh well round and round we go where she stops nobody knows.

Last year I bought some federal small rifle primers for 12$/100 in Lewistown MT. Got them for a friend who stood me up on them so I’m still sitting on 400 of them. Prior to that I was paying 30$/1000 but I use rem 9-1/2 for my rifles. Probably gunna have to change or buy whatever is in the market if I want to keep using them due to their bankruptcy and all. Thankfully I have plenty of them from the second shortage in the Obama years when I stocked up.

Just hang onto those Federal small rifle primers for a bit longer, and someone will be begging you to take $15/100 for them.

Holy smokes have things changed since I crawled out from under my rock. I've been out of shooting scene for years from having two boys but wow these prices are nuts. Luckily when I slowed down shooting I left myself with a healthy stash that will probably last me for along time. At these prices though I'm definitely considering letting go of some of my stash that I probably won't ever use to pay down the cost of all the equipment I bought when I was really getting into reloading.

Why have 5000 large rifle primers, unless you are a competitive shooter, I saved a couple of 1000 which I still think is way more than I
ll ever load. most years you don't get more than 3 deer tags X 20 years is not even 100 primers....

At one time I had just over half a million primers and bought leads ten thousand at time. But I was also doing competition shooting then. So in my option 5000 primers aren’t that many

You don't practice or develop new loads?
