Default Aging deer by teeth?

Anyone on here know about aging deer by teeth?

I killed a buck and his lower teeth are worn right down.

I found a Texas government website that gives directions on aging by teeth, just wondering if anyone has experience with this.

I’ve always made an assumption of age by observing teeth. Right or wrong, my conclusions have always satisfied my query.

As you can see from the pictures, the teeth are really worn down.
Also, after boiling the black stains on the teeth now look like they're gold plated! Strange but pretty cool.

I got a hold of a lab in Montana where they do cementum annuli analysis. They charge $75 to age a tooth, which I'd pay just to satisfy my curiosity. Only catch is, to import a deer tooth will cost an extra $150 USD! They're called Matson's Lab.

So I'm going to wait until I make a trip to Whitefish and mail it from there.
