It has shrunk in half as far as exhibits go ... very few boats compared to years previous. I was wanting to look over pontoon boots and there was 4 there in total. Used to alberta marine, martin motor sports and others there with displays. Very few fishing boats as well. No lund, princecraft or Crestliner .

Have a friend with a booth there and he said it is dead for the most part unfortunately. Used to be a great show when we went there (2010-2016)

I was thinking of taking the kids tomorrow. Not worth the drive from Airdrie?

I had a look at the list of vendors and noticed a distinct absence of local fishing boat dealers, Fly-in fishing lodges and tackle manufacture and retailers. Looked nothing like the boat and sportsmen shows I used to attend.

The last few years I have opted not going to the Calgary Sportsman show. I save myself for the one in Edmonton. That show is three times better than Calgary's. Last years Edmonton Sportsman show was a disappointment and that was probably due to the short notice they had to get it together. Covid restrictions were lifted in January and the show was in March. I guess that's a pretty short window for vendors to put something together. I decided to go the Calgary show and it was very disappointing. I was to look at 16' tin boats and nothing. Anyways, a trip to Edmonton come March.

Took the kids and some neighbour kids down… had a great time.

Well worth it if you want to take the kids.

Bummer to hear it's gone down hill. We had been planning to visit family in Cochrane and then hit the show but the timing didn't work out. I had been looking forward to it though.

Anyone know if the Edmonton boat show is worth the drive from GP? We're thinking of heading down for it as we're looking at buying a boat this fall or next spring so I want to get an idea of ball park prices and get hands on with some boats.

When we were boat shopping we went to the Edmonton show. All the big brands were there to check out. At the time, Calgary only had Crestliner and Smokercraft dealers.

wonder if it will get better again in the years to come. covid kind of messed up a lot of big events like this, even now that things are all open again
