Default Finally Back On The Ice

After a long hiatus we are finally made it onto the ice for our first outing of 2023. I was laid up for 6 weeks following a surgery with orders to not exceed lifting 10lbs weight so that ruled out using the Strikemaster, pulling the sleigh, setting up the tent etc. When I finally got the green light I was scheduled to work so back to BC to the pipeline.
We arrived home on days off into -30 to -32 temps so almost a week waiting for the cold spell to break.
We finally hit the ice today shortly after lunch time and got set up. It wasn't long before we saw action on the camera and one of the jawjackers fired producing a nice healthy 18" plus rainbow. My wife pulled one out in the last few minutes of the game before packing up, A nice chunky 19 inch football of a bow.
I know it's not the Alberta Bumpboard in the pics which I prefer but I forgot it in my boat last fall when I stuck the boat in storage.
It felt great to be back out again. Looking forward to a few more days on the ice before returning to work. 76 days between ice fishing trips was way too long. I have almost no hair left from pulling it out waiting to get on the ice again!

Dang there's a couple of monsters. Great job. They made it worth the wait.
