Smile Sako 85 bavarian?

Looking to upgrade to a new rifle and really loved sakos Bavarian model. I'm just very optimistic about the calibre. I'm looking for a good calibre for long range and to hunt big game like deer, moose and elk. I had my eyes set on 7mm rem mag or .338.

Any suggestions on this model and calibre choice?

Any thing from 270WSM , 30-06, 300WSM ,7MM rem Mag, 300 win Mag will work fine. I beleive they are all available in the Bavarian Sako.

As Leo mentioned all good calibers. 270WSM, 300WSM and 300WM would be my pics. But since you said 7mmRM, go with that one. Shoot 160gr Accubonds or TTSX's and you are good-to0go in Alberta!!!

I love my Sako m75 rifles. Bought my first as my first new rifle in 1997 (m75ss 300WM and kept on collecting)

All good suggestions and great gun really sweet looking. I might caution you that a stainless gun in synthetic or laminate might be better suited to last longer, a wood and blued barrel will get dinged up and rusted quite easily. Your a young dude and I'm sure a quality rifle like that will get used for years and years.

Just some food for thought..... Oh yeah and a 7 mm will serve you just perfectly!!!
