Headed back to a lake that has skunked me several times in the past, and my girlfriend, a friend and I got our first splake. We pulled up on the lake around 10 and i helped my gf and a buddy set up and as soon as they dropped their hooks it was a feeding frenzy with around five or six splake tapping at and circling their hooks. They managed to land two and lose several at the ice in the first ten minutes.
We fished the rest of the day and had an awesome time sight fishing them. I got to try out my new c-fish camera. It was awesome watching schools of two to six fish swim in and check out our hooks. Great camera I especially love the 360 degree remote control viewing capability, and recommend the camera as being great quality at a good price. We ended up icing over 15 nice fish, and keeping 9. We lost just as many or more on the way up and at the top of the hole. The real hogs often just tapped our hooks... probably the reason they're still in the lake. We saw one that had to be close to 30 inches with most of ours being around 14 and 15 inches. Over all and excellent fishing adventure. Fried up two of them and they were absolutely delicious.
