I don't know if it's because I had a difficult day or if it's because I'm a parent and a grandparent. But reading this leaves my stomach knotted up.

I have asked our heavenly father to restore Fletcher to full health.
And I will continue to pray for you and all of your family in the days to come.

all things are possible to him who believes.

I believe.

If all goes well, we will be headed for home friday my dad will keep you all posted, again I really appreciate everyones support.
So glad to hear he's feeling better enough to eat. Thank you for taking the time to post as well! Still praying for the little guy.

I know exactly what you're going through. My daughter contracted bacterial meningitis when she was 5 months old. Little spots all over her body, high fever, slumping in her little stroller. My wife brought her to the doctor, he took one look at her and said get her around the block to the children's hospital emergency, NOW! 5 minutes later she was in a emergency treatment room screaming her little lungs out as the attending staff were poking and prodding her. They hooked her up to penicillin right away.

I had left that morning on a road trip. I was stopped by the RCMP about 4.5 hours out of Winnipeg and told of a family emergency. No cell phones back then. Turned around and made it to Winnipeg in about 3 hours. Man was it hard to see her hooked up to medical instruments.

We all took penicillin pills. It took a couple of days for the culture to come back as bacterial meningitis...the worse of the meningoccus diseases. This was in 1984!

She made a complete recovery. Your grandson will too! Hang in there!

If the little gaffer has 1/2 the spirit of his grandpa he will pull through with flying colours. Hang in there big guy. Thinking of you, Kerry and the family during these trying times.

Just got an update, he is deteriorating, is screaming and pale again. We just walked in the door.
He is fighting but it's sure taking its toll on him.

Lord Jesus we just take this time to pray for Ken's grandson tonight. I pray father that you would give him a speedy recovery and help him to be okay. I also pray that the family's will stay strong during this incredibly difficult time.
Amen!
Really hope the little guy gets feeling better soon,

Pretty scary stuff with the lil people. My cousins lil girl recently spent a little over two weeks in the stollery with a meningitis like infection. The whole roller coaster with crazy high fever, inability to stand up, couldn't eat or drink, having seizures, terrible time for the family. But it was comforting to know how many people cared for my cousin and his family's well being and the quality of care recieved at a great facility. Best wishes and hope the lil fella is up to speed soon. He is in good hands.

Good lord man! I just saw this thread.
No one deserves to go through the pain of watching an infant suffer, least of all you.
And then your son!?

If I still have any favors left with God, they're yours.
You're in a lot of people's prayers.
If there is anything else I can do for you or your family, don't hesitate to ask.

I don't know you Ken or your family but I also don't know your grandchild. I do know that no one deserves to go through this.
I had previously said that I am not a praying man but this has made me pray for you and your family.
I had hoped it would get better soon but if things are not going well I will pray again. In fact I just did and will again.
My prayers and thoughts also extend to your daughter and son.

I may not be religious but I will do whatever it takes to help those I consider friends.
Although you and I have never spoken here I consider you a good guy and would like to consider you and I friends who haven't met yet.

I know I'm rambling but I just wanted to let you know that there are people like me here who care and wish for the best.

Bruce.

I am uncomfortable talking about my beliefs in an open forum like this but this time I believe it is important enough to say what needs to be said.

Folks, God isn't interested in religion. He is interesting in sincerity.

And you don't have to be a Christian or whatever.

I say this not to preach to you but to encourage everyone to pray for Fletcher. If you have the faith of a mustard seed, your voice will be heard.

That's not a lot of faith folks. All you need is just enough to try.

Don't worry about saying it right, it's not your words that count, it's your heart.

Read your post just before bed time Ken. Prayed for little Fletcher and family lastnite and this AM. Discussed it with my wife. She strongly suggested Reiki massage, a form of energy healing. She firmly believes in it. Often there are nurses within the hospital that are familiar with it and practise it. Just ask around. Here is a link to Chios Energy healing, very similar. Best wishes to you all.

Thanks everyone.

He is up and down, Brit hardly slept, he did better thru the night and this morning, but just had a screaming event a few minutes ago. It's not a normal "I'm hungry / my bum hurts" cry, it is a screaming howl. So hard to watch, and to hear.

We all deeply appreciate the concern and help. Brittany said again to thank you all.

Stay strong Ken. It will all work out for the good. Once they know what to treat, he will get better fast. Docs are amazing, kids are tough buggers. Sounds like you have a fighter for a grandson. Take care to you and your family.
