Was up at the bait site last weekend and had a nice boar come in. I'm looking for a true giant or another color this year so he was safe. Still fun watching them come in and settle down. Hopefully we will see some more bears shortly. Gotta wait until 3rd week of May now though which sucks. Hopefully we can keep them fed until then.

Heard a PIG of a boar was taken by bow near Peace River area...584 lbs. Imagine this bear in the Fall.

Seen some pics, trying to get access to them to see if I can post it.

May be Canada biggest this year...shot a 550+ dressed out boar years ago with the bow he scored 21 high change...a second 500 plus scored higher and the biggest was in between those two...

Hope he goes 22!!!

Quite a few reports of bears coming in now...I reluctantly sold my custom snow HeliM last week...and the young fella already has a nice Cinnamon phase bear down...

Now is the time the huge boars roam...good luck to those that are still out there

Default Counting down to next Friday...

Counting down to next Friday...Then I have a week off to head north and sit a couple bear baits...hoping for first archery bear!

Anyone want to share thoughts on hunting bear baits in the rain? Will the Bears still come out to feed?

Being made of sugar I hate sitting in the rain...lol...however animals do move in the rain...they dont have much choice...and here in Alberta as we all know it can pour one minute and sun be shinning the next...thats when they really move.

Bears ears are not the best so bears rely heavily on scent and sound...the rain all but eliminates both...so in the heavy rain you most likely wont see them...

if its sopped in for the day with steady rain...Im out of there!!!...but if there's that chance of the rain stopping and the sun coming out in the still evening...killer time!!!

Neil

Sleeping, waiting for the next bucket of grub to arrive. Some of the 1500 pics are down right comical.
