That odd one out of the group is called a flyer ,I'd blame it on the arrow being defective ..LOL . Great shooting norman .

Hey just wondering what sights I should look at for this challenge. Right now I'm just using the sight that came with my RAK package on the Bowtech Carbon Icon. My problem is I have it set so my top pin is shooting 20 yards at the very top of the adjustment range and I have the bottom at the very bottom of the adjustment range but it only gets me to 70 yards.

Any suggestions on some better sights? If I could get one that will help me get past 100 yards in the future that'd be great as well.

The CBE Tek Hunter sight is a great sight and will get you to at least 100+ yards.

Ok thanks. Have you seen the Blackgold Ascent Ambush? It looks like it might be alright, but I'm not sure as it can only dial in to 100 yards. Also not sure about the adjustable sight vs fixed pin...

Edit: Is the CBE Tek Hybrid the update on the Tek Hunter? I have a Cabelas gift card so if it's just the updated version I might look at picking it up instead. Looks like an awesome sight.

The Tek Hunter encorporates the best of worlds 1,3 or 5 fixed pin.....and adjustable. I have that a Hogg Father and a Tommy Hogg, all are great sights.

Or one has to ask themselves do they need a sight that will give them 100YDS...other than for this challange and the odd play day...

Would you realistically hunt with a 100 yd pin...or even shoot 3D...other than some fun or a long distance 3D event ...the high majority of shots will be well in your sight pin range

A fixed pin sight can be played with where it only takes seconds to have a dead on 100 yd pin also...

My pins have an 80 yd on one bow...set up correctly most will have lots of room on the sight elevation rail to move entire sight down...mark normal setting where 20 30-40 50yd etc sits and adjust so furthest pin is dead on at 100 and mark that distance on elevation rail...so it can be simply set to 100 yard at ease...

A simple allan key is all thats need to make a two second adjustment...and is just an alternative to buying another large expensive sight for less than 1% of shots you will be ever [or maybe even should ever] be taking...

These are good points Neil. Other things in your sight can be used as reference (sight level, bottom of housing, change anchor or even install a second peep) or....you can learn how to "pin stack" which involves practice (but thats why we do this right?).

To Pin Stack, draw back to get a visual and place lower pin on target.....look where highest pin is on target (or off target ) Use that as a reference point and move lower pin to that exact location....or another pin depending on what you have determined to use due to your practice. Involves alot of practice but can be used to shoot long distances accurately.

If I was buying the Tek Hunter brand new I would personally try to find one with the dovetail style mount.

Thanks for the info guys. I was thinking I'd like to upgrade my sight because I want to practice at longer ranges more often then not. I found that by shooting at 50-60-70 yards that when I came back to 20 yards it was much easier. So if I can shoot consistently at 100 yards, my 40-50 yard shots on a deer should be a little easier with the adrenalin flowing.

Well picked up a CBE Tek Hybrid 5 pin with the dovetail mount today and got her set up. Tried a few times at 100 yards but my groups were all around 2 feet in diameter. The wind definitely wasn't helping today. Hoping I can get out again tomorrow if the wind dies down.

Nice sight!
Rain, chilly, and gusting winds around here today.
Gave up on trying to shoot. I actually brought my phone too!
Supposed to be windy all weekend unfortunately.

Nice, I like those sights. On mine I use the bottom pin for when I use the dial but I am sure you figured that out already

I am going to give it a final go this weekend also. Not very hopeful and my arrow count currently is 1 broken and 1 lost. Still offering $25 gift card for most lost/destroyed arrows.

I messed up my right shoulder and left elbow last week. Havent been shooting much.
Dont think i will get out this weekend. Pouring rain, and windy anyways.
We need the rain, so i cant complain really.

I have lost one arrow thus far, and broke another.

Well no pics yet...after all day on concrete [yikes on back muscles]..and in wind some rain I fired a few rounds...

1st round was interesting but I am using the big 60 yard target and walking back 40 yards into parking lot

...second group was close to all in the 10" circle...like a shotgun blast...

Third round... put on back brace and flinched one right off four ft target...

Forth round... I spend in big massage chair, sipping on refreshments watching wild TV.....

Saga continues...no excuses
lol

At least you got out there and shot. It's fishing season now, I haven't shot my bow since the last video I posted. I might get out once more before the expiry date runs out.

Not quite 100 yards, here's a 70 yard group first three arrows of the day. Shooting a Pse DNA, black eagle deep impacts, bstinger bars, and Scott longhorn hunter hinge. New spot Hogg double pin sight working good. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1434439211.539360.jpg

Got out to dial in a sight tape last night for my hunting/ABA Bowhunter Challenge Class bow. Didn't have a tape but I believe about a 6 inch group.

Default 50 Yard Egg

Would like to challenge you LC to a 45 yard egg if your up to it.
One shot.
What do you say ?

You can put the egg up at 50 to 45 yards and you can use a
range finder.
But it's one shot only.
Hit or Miss.

(45 yards is the longest I can shoot target in my back yard);

Sounds like fun! I'll give it a go....I think I could use carefully spaced golf tees to hold the egg....I think I better try to buy the largest egg I can find

Not sure when I can get to it....I can't shoot 45yards at my place. But I am up for the fun of the challenge.
