Newell:

Been around +10-15 or so here all week in the afternoons. 17-18 yesterday with big winds. All the info I have :/

Haven't been out there lately myself. Maybe someone else will chime in.

Thinking of heading back to Gull on Saturday.
Has anyone been out on it in the past couple days?
how is the overflow/flood water situation?

Any ice reports? Come on guys!!

Do I need to bring the canoe with me or not? Should the dog have a life jacket on?

I've been out by Sparrowhawk for the last two Saturdays, and the ice has been about 18" both times. It was raining lightly last Saturday when we left, so the top was a bit soft, but I can't see there being a drastic change, at that location at least, in a week.

Was on Gull yesterday at Brownlows (sp?) - lake is fine ish. If you are cutting new trails in the snow on the ice be a bit careful. I wouldn't use anything but 4x4 these days. On and off of the ice at the shore was slushy but not bad.

If you are not cutting your own trails you could likely get on and off with a car, just be careful as to where you go and still watch your clearance.

Still around 20 to 22 inches of good enough ice but suspect it will go bad quick with the weather staying on the plus side the majority of the 24 hours now.

Sometimes it's good to put in the time and effort and gas money and discovery yourself! If I'm out there I will report but sometimes it gets frustrating reading that the same people are reporting and the same people just enquire from their laptops.

rant over

Then don't read those posts. Simple fix.
This forum has been incredibly helpful, and continues to be. I do my best to help someone where I can as well with reports, etc.

I burn more than my fair share of gas in the truck annually.

Default Pigeon Ice

Pigeon Lake this am.....Just a quick ice report ..... Still driving on this am ..... That being said, I've seen a few 1 tons cruising around still but they have bigger balls than I do. I'll still drive on tomorrow as we still have a little over 20" of ice but it's spring ice.. All white ice & the holes have barely been freezing over the last few days... So do what you want but keep your head up out there. Myself, 1 more day with the half ton & I'll be switching to the quad & toboggan..... Cause I'm still chasing the whites deep & I caught another 3 this am... Should've been 5 but I got rammy on a couple fish this am

My buddy did a recon trip today and drove by Beaver Mines Lake.... it's partially open, and by Monday, there may not even be any ice. Beauvais and Lees are both wide open.

Update: The only ice at Beaver Mines is by the bay near the scout camp.

Eagle is not safe, I was there last Friday and the launch was getting pretty touchy with all the mud and water you had to go through to get on the ice. A few were going on the so. end but that is starting to come away from the shore as of last weekend. With all the warm temp and wind of this week I have decided to call it a season at Eagle. Not a place to be fishing imo

Default Newell

I drove out to Newell yesterday and all around the edges (I was in the north west corner) is open water. I might have seen full ice going up to the rocks near that pump station, but I sure wouldn't go on it.

Default Pine

Pine lake
-no vehicles on lake today on north end. Quads ok. Launch area is breaking up. 1-3 feet of slushy mush at shore. Some spots break through really easily.
If you still have a shack on the ice, get it off ASAP!
-ice 24inches and good condition just a short walk from shore

Default Lac Sante

Went down to Lac Sante last night, there's a good amount of flood water on the ice just off the south boat launch. The ice there looks like Swiss cheese with tons of new cracks, the ice is still 16"+ but there are holes every 5m so it's not as sturdy as it seems. I wouldn't recommend driving on it, a lot of people were parking just off the side of the launch and walking on.

Default Spray Lk

Still 18-20" of solid ice.

Was first on the lake this AM, but the ride from Calgary was brutal starting at Stoney Nakoda due to black ice on Hwy 1. 50 km/h from there to Canmore....transports jack knifed on hills.

6" of fresh snow up on the mountain.
Had a total of 5 hits in 6 hours fishing...iced two 12" lakers.
