Question Mountain River Bull trout......?

Has anyone had any luck with bull trout in the head waters this summer? See any??Im hopething the flooding never got to many.

The game warden last fall told me that bulltrout go deep into the mountains in late summer/fall to spawn? Is that True? If so do you think they have already left there "regular" holes? Sometimes they do seem to just disapear!

Im going on a little bull Trout Quest in the mountains starting Sunday.....actually its more a camping thing with the inlaws, but besides breakfast,Diner&campfire time....Im on the Rivers

By this time of the year I have found Bullies that have migrated over 150km up river into the headwaters.

On the BC side.

Doesnt take long once they get the urge.

The bulls will be on their way upstream now. Huckleberries and bulls go together.

It is pretty amazing to see half a dozen 4-8 pound fish in a tiny pool way up in the mountains.

Ya I dont know what the hell to think now....I might be to late this year....I swear last year when I went in July I caught them all pooled up before they left....went back to the same little hole in september...it was a ghost town????

Ill say one thing .....I went snorkeling last July in the river...I saw a bull trout that looked like a big salmon, hooked jaw and everything..I swear it was around 40" long and I cant get that image out of my head....$250 worth of Trout lures bought over the last year waiting for these few days....hope They're there!

Thanks for sharing fellas. My PB bully is well overdue to be topped!

So here's a question. Say a bully stream feeds from a lake with no inlet. Would the fish spawn on the lake? Or stay in the flowing water?
