Default Red deer river near innisfail

My buddy wants to go fishing on the red deer river out around innisfail tommorow, I've never fished the red deer that far up (aside from out in the mountains) what kind of fish are around there so I know what kind of gear to bring? Just wandering if it is far enough upstream to catch trout or if it is the goldeye/walleye/pike that I've caught out east.

Its a good mix, browns are very reclusive. First and last light is your best bet or in the mile or so below the dam on a fly.

It's mixing both the cold water and the warm water fish? huh that'll make it interesting!

Kind of,its a bottom flow dam . It flows cold for quite a few miles . The little red and the medicine warm it up and its fairly shallow in most areas.yes the man made sections just below the dam stay fairly cold.
