Bushnell Scout 2000.
I have only ranged the long ones, particularly antelope or mule deer. Otherwise I pretty much just use the "Force" and rely on my practice gained through 3D.

Have not ranged a moose or elk to date.

1. Yes
2. N/A
3. Leica 1000
4. I determine game trails then range a tree 20 or 30 yards from my best guess to where the game will travel and set my stand in the best tree at my comfort distance.

I range objects from my stand even mark some when possible.
When animal comming in rangefinder is last thing I think of. Less movement the better.

Yes
Scout 1000 arc
Landmarks only, if utilizing stand or blind. If on foot, I use it for every animal as my internal rangefinder only works in open country on whitetail sized critters (aka what I'm used to in practice) whereas in the bush everything seems closer than it really is. I know my limits, and I'd rather have an animal walk by than miss or wound.

Another awesome reason to shoot the ABA Bowhunter Challenge rounds...to sharpen up those internal ranfinder skills in reality scenarios...

good points!!!

#2 -If NO!!! - Reason?

A-Cant afford one at this time!
B-Dont need one!!
C- Other-

#3 -If Yes... - Leica 1000, bushnell 1000, bushnell yardage pro 450. Leica kicks butt, is the newest, the B1000 did me well for 12 years, 450 not so great, could not range black animals!

#4 -If yes.. -When hunting do you range everytime before you shoot or or do you just range objects prior for stands and blinds.

A- Only in Blinds and stands on objects at 20-30-40 etc yds - always range objects, move rocks/logs to specific ranges 25 and 40 so I can gauge quickly if needed
B- Range before every shot regardless. if it is over 25 yards, yes range, especially on deer over 30 yards.
C- Have one but dont need it or use it much.

Thanks for putting together info - need to read all responses

Neil
