Default Custom Ear Plugs

Does anyone have a recomendation for a company that makes custom ear plugs in the Calgary Area. What should I expect as a fair price?

I think Costco has some outlets that make them
I got mine poured at a show about ten years ago by a guy who does the gunshow circuit .

I have had a couple sets made over the years. Ok for work and motorcycle but I didn't like for shooting. Prefer foam plugs as minimum and usually muffs as well.

do custom plugs the keep more sound out or just more comfortable, re: plugs vs plugs? I use muffs sometimes but sometimes they get in the way of a good cheek weld. I prefer plugs but don't like the ones you have to twist and squeeze to get in.

I have esp electronic plugs and they are amazing! Well worth the cost. I got mine moulded at the provost gun show not sure if there is anyone that can do them where you are but if possible it's worth it.

Same, had them done last fall about $100. Took them to Big Sandy shoot in Arizona this spring...LOTS of gun fire (about 1 million rounds in 2.5 days ) they worked awesome.

I am using the Sound Gear noise canceling plugs. Small, comfortable and seem to reduce the noise nicely. Bought off LRH Forum. Around $300 U.S. I believe. They recommend the Industrial version over the hunting version as long as your hearing is ok. If you already have hearing loss then get the hunting version, it amplifies sounds a bit more.

Had a company come in and do custom molds for all the warehouse staff about 15 years ago. I wore them all day and sometimes I would forget they were in until I got home. I have since moved up into management and don't use them other than at the range now and they are well worth the money. Don't need muffs or anything else additional to keep the sound out and I shoot 338 L. and 458 Win Mag with no problems at all. Totally obstructive and when the shooting is done my ears/ear lobs or head do not ache at all.

Protectear.com

I have used these guys for around 10 years. They usually last around 10 years give or take. they take a mold of your ear with a silicon mix and send it off for modeling. Takes about 3 weeks but it is second to none for protection. Cost around 150ish and they retain your ear sample so you can reorder.

Hey Markg,

I have got several pairs at Sound Hearing and never have had an issue with them. I found the staff there to be very helpful when you explain what you'll be using them for.

Hope this helps,

IKEA

Had the same guy do mine at the Edmonton show this spring. Shoot a lot of trap---work great, so much better than muffs or plugs IMO.
