Default Full Moon

I think the critters just take advantage of the bright nites and feed more. Not much you can do to hunt differently if they are feeding at night. My two cents.

in my experience, the hunting seems better the morning after a full moon. The critters are more active and are moving around alot. If its really cold that night it helps out alot too. Even my dog and the wifes cats act a little strange during a full moon.

Last time I checked it was illegal to hunt in the dark, even with a full moon.

imho , i think the full moon time is a bit harder to hunt , they know it's gonna be lighter at night and seem to come out/ move around a bit later, and also head back to security cover a bit earlier. my .02 cents... i like it when it's a full moon and cloudy as all heck ! then nothing seems to change

I can't decide myself. All I know is that things change with the moon (it seems)

The only thing I do different with a full moon is carry a silver tipped bullet just in case I have trouble with a werewolf.

in my experience deer move more during the day close to the full moon.

Best success deer hunting I have usually when the full moon in November is close to the peak of the rut.
I always schedule my time off for hunting deer in November around the full moon.

I would go as far as say half of the deer I ever shot where within plus/minus two days of full moon in (mostly) November or (a few times) October.

Well if you sked your hunting around the full moon, would it not make sense most of your hunting success would be near the time when the moon is full. Just a thought.

Deer activity is effected by a number of factors.

Their stomach is one of them. Deer feed and then they HAVE TO LAY DOWN TO CHEW CUD. So I belive they feed in the middle of the night in the full moon and then go to lay down early. After chewing and digesting through the early part of the day they are ready to go out to feed again by mid day so are active between 12:00 and 3:00. Then they go lay down again.

Hunters are most often out hunting sunup till 11:00 and then go for lunch and a snooze, 11:00 till 4:00 and then go hunt again.

The hunters see less deer activity when they are in the woods and the deer see less hunters when they are active.

In the full moon hunt all day. In the "peak" of the rut hunt all day.

Blind em. Same approach as the 'deer in the headlights' situation.
