Was up at touch wood for the weekend. Hammer handles all over. HAd the family out there so it was more like guiding than fishing, still wouldnt have traded it for the world. Great weather and the camp ground is as I remember it,Really nice! they started grading the road this afternoon so anyone headed in will have a good drive in. Ta;ed with some regualrs out there and they are saying it gets neted heavey in winter.............

I never have had great luck with touchwood before, on about 5 different occasions haha. Actually I did caught one 9lb pike that made for a good fight on my medium light rod I was using.

Default Touchwood discovery.

I love Touchwood for its beauty and a learning discovery. Every time I was there, I caught lots of Walleyes at the same depths and locations. The last time there I was getting no bites at those depths and locations, so I tried elsewhere and accidentally tried shallower running crank baits in shallower water and got fish. This was over weeds in 9 to 12 feet of water. You have to watch your rod tip to pick up on snagged weeds. The shallow water weed trick has worked well in Southern AB reservoirs too.

I agree it probably one of the nicest lakes around. I was hoping for a little more action but had to balance time between lake and the cold lake air show. I'm sure if I took the time i would have scrounged up a honey hole!

I'm really contemplating going there instead of Cold. I got a site reserved at Cold but Touchwood is sure nice. Damn it I can't decide.
