Not that Rittich starting is a bad thing in my opinion, I'd actually like Smith to have a few more games off, but "Calgary Flames goaltender Mike Smith is not injured as badly as originally feared and is listed as day-to-day, head coach Glen Gulutzan announced on Tuesday."

Rittich having an excellent game so far, great battles and liking the 2-1 lead. Nice PK for Flames.

If BB356 was still on the board I'm sure he would have posted something about tonight's game

Well, kind of knew going in it wasn't going to be a fun game...the slew foot on Rittich was worthy of the Ducks, but still a hard loss when every point counts. Poop.

Well, at least on a night the Flames lost, so did the Kings, Ducks, and Sharks...so no movement in Pacific. Crazy.

Flames play a 60 minute game and beat Preds 4-3 in their own barn! Great win, Lazar gets winner. Great game, good battles. Jankowski and Chuckie had good goals too.

Great game all players played well, nice to see a full 60 minute effort by the flames. Awesome power play and penalty kill. One mistake by Rittich but totally redeemed himself after that.

Default LA loses now if Van beats Hoser

And the SOILERS lose (a given since losing is in their DNA) the SOILERS are behind the Kanuckleheads

Sounds like I missed a good game

Was Goudreau making plays and playing hard? It seems to make a big difference when hes got a fire under his arse.

He played a good game, put a nice pass on Monahan's stick and Rinne made a crazy save. He was in it, but the whole team showed up imo.

Yup, got to agree. Chuckie has been fantastic the last few games...or all season, really.

The Flames win, the Penguins win, and Edmonton is losing, another great night for hockey.

Other than the Hateful Ducks won. And nobody even speared Perry in the spleen.

Going to be a Donny Brook I expect. Wish those useless Canucks could beat the Sharks tonight, but not looking very likely. Oh well, we will keep the 3rd spot in the Pacific tonight. Was a good battle.

Tkachuck has been a great leader, plus non stop effort and draws alot of penalties. Monahan has so many chances every night, how he doesn't have 30 more points is beyond me. Either way great win against a good team.

Just checked out the following site:

Sports Club Stats

Its interesting to me that the Flames, who are now 3 points above the Kings, have a 57.3% chance of making it and the Kings have a 64.7%. The Kings aren't even in the playoffs right now and sit 11th in the conference. By comparison, the NYR, who sit four points back (the Kings are 3) have a 14.1% chance of making it. I know the stat takes into account upcoming games, but the Kings don't have a super easy schedule with 16 of their remaining 25 games against teams above them in the standings. Calgary has 7 of their remaining 23 games against teams above them. I guess all this for saying, I like our chances.

Flames come out strong and then Panthers score first shot....ugh. Lots of time to fix this.

Does Lomberg remind anybody of this guy? Kinda short and angry, a bit vicious?

Oy vey...maybe a bit premature, but if we don't get Smith back soon our goose is in danger of a cooking...Panthers just clobbering the Flames.

If Calgary had a half decent home record this year, they'd be among the top in the standings. How do they fix it?
