Default Keg River is a little under the weather...this is his wife

For those of you who know Keg River - this is his wife, Patty, posting. Keg went to the local hospital last evening and heavens I forget now why he wanted to go BUT the short of it is HE is NOT coming home until he makes a little side trip to Edmonton to have some mechanical work done to his ticker.

As I understand it now they will fly him to Edmonton for the procedure but they don't fly you back for some strange reason and of course we are 8 hours from Edmonton, it is winter, he just got a new to him truck and I drove said truck for the very first time this morning to get home. I was too chicken to drive last night so one of his local sisters came and rescued me from the ER in Manning and they took care of me until this morning.

I know Keg's family will help all they can to get him back home BUT wanted to let youse guys and gals know where he is and prayers are always appreciated.

I forget what my name is here on A.O. so let's just call me Patty, my real name.

Thanks for your friendships.

Patty I think you likely have my number, when he is released let me know and I will bring him home to you. I have some medical training so it may be beneficial for him.
Let me know if I can help.

Edit- It was nice talking to you, let me know when to head out. My pleasure.

Ken your number did not show up on the phone so please send me your number and please tell me YOU are the AO member who just phoned me less than 10 minutes ago.... it is tough getting old. You can email it to me at patty_tupper@abnorth.com or to Keg here on AO since I am using his log in ........guess that should be ok.

Patty please send all my best to him. It is one month ago today since I was at the Mazankowski for an emergency surprise repair to my aorta. It's a lot to take in but the AO community has helped so much. I was flown in from Jasper but it was only a 4hr drive home. I offer my support as a guy going through it. Prayers & positive thoughts coming your way from my family to yours!

OK this is Keg's wife, Patty. Took me a while to remember my AO login.

Keg is being flown to Edmonton today. Will keep you posted as I get updates. I don't expect to get too many since we don't know anyone there...…………...as far as I know anyway.

Thank you for all you guys do.

A harsh time of year to have such troubles. Sending prayers for you both.
Prayers that he heals soon, and prayers that you will take time to care for yourself.

Please keep us posted.

Thanks for posting this Patty, just saw it. Had lunch with Jim at Sportsman show here a couple years back, hope it goes really good for him in Edmonton. If Jim and Ken want to do a pit stop in GP on the way home, I'd be happy to meet up and buy dinner. Let me know.

Does he need anything dropped off at the hospital? Can I take him a book or some magazines? Or anything at all he can pass some time with? Just let me know.

Thank you.
I didn't take my reading glasses so reading was out of the question. But it sure would have been nice, there wasn't much on the TV and even less happening outside my room.

We came back via hwy 43 so a swing into GP would have added a bunch of miles to our trip, but thank you anyway.

If we had the time I'd have been 100 percent in favor of the side trip.
As it was, with the late start and the weather we wanted to make it as fast as safely possible.

I have to say, Ken's driving was top notch. I could have slept all the way home had I been tired and I can honestly say I have known no more then a hand full of driver who I've been comfortable enough with to fall asleep while on the road.
I didn't watch the speedo but when I did look it was always right on 100 or just under. And he held his lane position like we were on rails.

I was able to totally relax and enjoy the trip.

Wonderful!

Was all the parts there. I wasn't 100 percent sure because it came to me as an opened kit and I've never owned one myself.

It sure was awful nice of Marilyn to be the go between.
That took a load off my shoulders knowing she would take care of it.

She's such a sweet heart.
We've spent many a happy hour looking for birds. I couldn't ask for a better friend.

You two guys are in my prayers. Taking precious time in this situation to keep this community up to date with what you are going through speaks volumes!
Looking forward to hearing Keg’s side of the story.

God bless!

Good to hear he has been flown out. Wish him well and speedy recovery. Like I already mentioned, I am in Peace River and if you need any help, let me know. I know you guys make grocery runs to town, I can help with that if needed or most anything else, really.

P. S. Glad to hear he found a new truck
