I've been busy loading skeet and grouse loads this weekend for the 20, 16 gauge black powder loads are on tomorrows todo list

opening day with Good dogs, classy guns and a good friend are hard too beat combination- especially when the dogs point ruffies !

Very quiet this year. Only managed a couple outings, which both turned into pheasant - duck combo hunts. I think I fired 5 shots at pheasants, and got 4 birds. A handful of ducks taken.

My male dog is 99% retired; I let him run (hobble) a few yards, and then have to put him back in the truck, where he becomes very upset that his girlfriend gets to continue on. Makes it a bit less enjoyable for me knowing he is left out.

We should plan a trip to get out with the dogs again before we are both hobbling around like Parker!

I am fortunate to live next to a pheasant release site so I made the best of the beautiful fall we had last year and hunted almost everyday. Made several trips to southern AB to hunt wild birds with good success there as well. Didn't see many grouse in our area but did manage to put two on the table. Looking forward to this coming season.

I am 100% in Cat. Unfortunately Parker will have to sit it out, if he is still around come fall; has good days and bad.

I have shot more upland birds with that twist barrelled double in the last few years, than all my other shotguns combined. It is a lovely gun.

I was speaking with the fella the other day that I got it from and we both agreed that it is a gem for sure!
