Default Sandy Lake Near Edmonton

Anyone know the status of this lake? My colleague has a cabin on the lake and was curious if there is still fish in it. The atlas says it used to hold perch and pike. Any info?

Sandy Lake west of Morinville had monster pike years ago.
I heard it was dead about 3 yrs. ago, and haven't heard of anyone fishing there in several years. Lac La Nonne isn't too far away. Hope this helps. Good luck.

My parents have a cottage on that lake, we've been going there since the early 80's. At one time there was excellent perch fishing, now there are no fish left in that lake. The lake level has dropped by 3 or 4 metres. It winter killed over 10 yrs ago. You should have seen the monster pike washed up on the shoreline in the spring, it was both impressive and sad.

Default Ice Fishing

I saw someone on the north lake in with an Ice fishing tent last weekend. However I cannot confirm if they caught anything and I haven't seen anyone else since. I drilled a couple of holes on the north end of the south lake only to drill up mud.

In-laws live there.

No fish.
