Default Semi Auto 17 HMR and .22 Mag

What's the skinny on the Savage A17's and A22's? Are there any other semi auto 17 hmr's and/or .22 mag's on the market? Very interested!

I have one of these. Works great. My only complaint is the heavy trigger.

I've been searching around and the A22 is a brand new Savage rifle based on the A17 that they produced last year. I guess that's why I haven't heard of it before. The CZ sounds good but a lot more expensive than the A22. I'd want it for a truck/bush gun so I wouldn't want something that I was worried about banging around a bit. I'm going to keep my eye on this one but I think that I might give it 6 months on the market before buying.

^I think that's a good call. 17HMR is inherently accurate, yet I haven't heard that the A17 rifles can really squeeze that accuracy out of the round. (A17 Ammo OR any other HMR ammo) In my experience, 22WMR is a much less accurate round to begin with, so I'd be a little concerned about how a semi would print.

The Remington 597 in 22WMR is supposed to be a good gun, and you see them pop-up for sale often on CGN. The CZs are supposed to be great guns, pretty accurate...but I don't care for the look, or the price of them.

I have had a couple of Brno semi, in HMR and 22 mag,
the 617 .17 hmr shot very well but I was always a bit concerned, about how the cases swelled up, never gave a problem, other than the odd jam when it caught a fired case. sideways,
Years ago I had a 611 22 mag semi, fantastic rifle, shot lots off game with it, would love another, should not have traded it on a shotgun, but as broke in those days.
CZ 612 is pretty nice,

I've seen quite a few used cz semi auto 22mags sell for the 500$ ish dollar ish mark. For that price I think you can't go wrong. Shot a few of the Remington's and definitely wouldn't waste my money on one. I guess you could always go volquartsen of money doesn't matter! Haha
