I am a velocity fan

but I built a ultralight 308 on a rem700 action a douglas barrel and a MPI fiberglass stock with a 6x leupold it weighs 6lbs . it is ridiculous how accurate it is. I own lots of rifles and have built lots of rifles and when I am hunting if I look in my hands I have that 308 .

It has been established right here on AO that the 308 is the best all around SAAMI available

x3. Pretty hard round to beat for low recoil, good long range performance and very accurate with a lot of different loads.

It's flat out hard to beat the 308. Just plain good. Like vanilla ice cream. Maybe it's not fancy, but who ever put some in their mouth and spit it out? No one.
