Default Wabamun/Pigeon Lake Report June16th,2007**Slideshow Link@Bottom**

Had to wait for the wife to get home from work, but still made it out. John and I met at Wabamun, got on the water and it was Slow, very slow. John did manage a pike on a topwater bait meant for a Musky, and also another pike on a inline pike spinner. I caught 2 small pike on a inline pike spinner and a trolled Minnow bait. We covered alot of water and got bored of the non-action...........

.........so john suggested hitting another lake..... so full throttle towards the launch at Wabs...then the RPMs went right up and we were going nowhere fast. Some rubber prop hub crumbled to pieces, and would only work going very slowwwwwww. We made it in and headed to Echo marine in Alberta Beach, where the woman at the parts counter had us wait for like 45 minutes trying to find a part, trying to pretend like she knew what she was looking for.... just to end up not having anything.

Blasted over to Barry J's in Edmonton after a huge rainstorm. got the new Prop, installed it on the boat, and off to Pigeon Lake.

Caught wayyyyy to many walleye to keep track (maybe 40 + each?), but we went through 2 tubs of minnows, we used Berkley Gulp!, plain soft plastics, etc., tipped on jigheads, flasher jigs, jiggin spoons, Fergie Spoons and even cranks. cranks werent producing though.

The walleyes were so eager we tried to "NOT" to catch walleyes. the wife had made me Spaghetti, and elk meat sauce for lunch, so i on a Jig-A-Whopper Hawger spoon (jigging spoon), I tipped it with a Mushroom and a piece of Spaghetti ***WHAM*** the walleye nailed it. Mushroom after mushroom, walleye after walleye. then when they stopped biting mushrooms, i tried a glob of ground elk burger, and then they hit that too. Even tried plain soft plastic twister tail on the same jiggin spoon rigged sideways, hit that too.

ever siick. But hey, it was great to fish with John again. I was supposed to work Sunday so i went saturday, then work phones and says for me to stay home sunday, WTF? Manitoba holidays is only 1 week away.

NDN, once again very pleasurable day on the water, wish I could say the same thing about the parts department at the marine shop at Alberta Beach. That was painful!

Awesome slide show.

Couldn't finish watching your show, that irritating music is far to annoying. I can't handle teenager music these days.

Nice report. I was at Pigeon last Monday evening with a fishing newbie and manged to catch many on just small cranks. Used two tags on a couple of spaghetti, mushroom, burger eaten wallies. Sorry I couldn't clear out more of them in time for your weekend out.

Hate to agree but the last musical selection was a bit rough even for me.

thx guys. No worries on the music comments, cant expect everyone to like different types of music. Thats what they make volume adjustments for.

nothing outstanding. Although John did catch a little stunted walleye so to speak. its in the slide show near the end, the little one resting in his hand, the picture doesn't even come close to doing the little fish justice. It had a rounded fat belly, shallow head, big tail and short body. Almost like it was squished from front to back.

there was a couple times where the walleyes were following the caught walleyes up to the surface, and would zoom in and snap up any minnows that would fall out of the fishes mouth. I really think Pigeon has a lack of food.

i sorta thought the music suited the Slide show, as when you see the pic in it where there is a walleyes head, and a orange Flasher Jig in its mouth, the lyrics say "Pigeon Park", at that moment. And the fact that we launched at Pigeon Prov Park, well............

shoot me a PM and i can fill ya in, i bet those African hunting pics would make one hell of a slide show.
