Default 1 rifle, 1 shotgun.

We've all heard this one before. Typically from a spouse or friends. Maybe from some granola crunching anti-gunner who harvests their meat from the grocery store. Why more than one rifle and one shotgun?

Scary as it is, what would your pair be?

I'm gonna say a scout in .308 (for me the gsr) and a mossberg 590 a1 12g.

Colin.

I have a habit of being quite blunt with granola crunchers, they are usually trying to find the nearest exit when they see me coming so they never have time to ask me stupid questions.

it would be hard to beat Colin's choice just choose alternate calibers. My choices would be a 22 LR and a 12g pump

Not tough at all!
My 6.5x55 O/U also has a set of 20 gauge O/U gauge barrels!
We should be so lucky that we live in a country where we can still own multiple firearms and hunt relatively inexpensively !
If one talks to someone in Europe or Britain , one quickly realizes this.
I have gone through whole seasons shooting just this one gun and taken everything from rabbits to deer and ruffed grouse to geese with it .
Thankfully however, I am not restricted to just one, so I have several hunting rifles and shotguns!

mosin Nagant (for the cheap ammo, and the killing power with good loads) or my browning 22.... that'd be a really hard one to give up

Remington 870 12ga
