Default Edson/whitecourt area need help my Polaris ranger was stolen

Our lake lot at long lake got broke into and they stole 3 Stihl chainsaws all of our tools. They also stole a 2008 Polaris rangerxp and an older Polaris sportsman quad and our brand new 2011 ranger 800xp. I'm sure there is more stolen but my Dad is headed out there to see what else has been taken. I will post some more pics when we get them off the other computer.

If you see them please pm me I would appreciate it.

Lane

Makes you wonder how many you see rolling around...were stolen.

This complaint comes up so often.

I hope you find it and it hasn't been trashed.

Friggin thieves we should bring back horse whipping.

Driving to Edson and back 3 times last week, I commented on how many toys are being pulled down the hiway.
Every 5th vehicle was an RV of some sort. Most of them had a ATV of some sort taggging along.
I saw one neat boat trailer that had the quad on the front of the trailer. Obviously custom or customized.
Your toy will be ripped apart for parts in no time at all.
Sorry, it sucks!
Horsewippping is just a start. Fingers, hands, then arms. 4 strikes and the top comes off.

Alot get get sent to bc and sask and abroad, alberta doesnt share registration data with other provinces, Even if its reported stolen in alberta, sask wont know about it if the "buyer" goes to register the machine. Thats what im told anyways

Your not the only one unfortunately this is a major problem in the area. It's time for residents to take matters into there own hands. Throw a little buck shot in the air.

Just this past week I posted a story on here from the front page of one of the local Edson papers about the RCMP busting a gang of thieves in the Edson area. 9 people charged and they are still looking for a few others. The report said something like 36 stolen firearms recovered and atv's plus a whole list of stuff with the inevitable drugs.

I agree thieves should be horse whipped but people who buy "hot deals" are just as guilty imho and should stand right next to the thieves waiting their own turn with the cat-o-nine-tails.

Remember for every thief out there stands someone waiting to hear "Hey buddy, want a great deal on a quad?" If the buyers were not there the thieves would have less reason to steal.
Regards,
Dave.

I would keep my eyes open near the junky property on the other side of the lake near the campground. Well known for stolen property. Just a suggestion.

Sorry to hear about your troubles.

That's kind of what we are thinking. The place looks like scene out of scary movie. I know the cops have been watching them for a while.

Default 2010 Polaris Ranger Stolen

My 2010 razor was stolen from our property, in the Shinning Bank area and Long Lake area, between Oct 14 - 18/2013. Please lets find these people. Please call the Edson RCMP if you find.

Thanks

Angry Sorry to hear

Visiting my inlaws in July and we had 3 quads and a rzr4 boxed in against the house with our trucks souroinding them. I heard a guy outside twice and when I came outside ...nothing. Next time my wife heard the noise and I peeked out. The guy was under my rzr Steering wheel checking out my wiring. I ran out side in my boxers At 3 am with adrenaline pumping and managed to chase down a 20 year old while I was bare foot. We had a quick exchange of words that ended up with him on the ground and scrambling back up and running away. I knocked his shoes of with the one punch landed. He didn't talk so tough after . As he ran away in his socks. Didn't sleep much after that. The inlaws were worried he might come back and burn down their house. This was on reserve so I'm not over reacting it happens. That night 5 vehicles were burned in a company yard with my gas can sitting in the driveway. Talk about a set up. I talked with police gave a description and they knew exactly what was up and had video from the company so they knew it wasn't me. The thieves had stolen my can of supreme gas from the shed. A holes! Do u know how expensive gas is now!!?? Anyway, I managed to prevent my theft and feel for the OP. Problem is this guy I cracked was a repeat offender and will likely get out of these charges. Last I heard he was in jail but on a different matter. Locked up is where he belongs . I just can't fathom taking someones property like that. My inlaws are retired and can't afford to be loosing crap. That have had 2 quads stolen in 3 years. Both were locked up in the shed.
We do need stiffer penalties for these crooks .

DAMN! Here we go again. This has gone beyond the point of annoying.

I have chatted with people who have had stuff stolen, police trying to catch the thieves, police who have caught the thieves, corrections officers that house the thieves, prosecutors who attempt to put the thieves where they belong....a whole damn list of people.

To me it sounds like everyone is trying hard to do their jobs. Where the wheels fall off the bus....so to speak...is when Little Johnny Dirtbag gets in front of a Judge. They speak to him harshly, change his diaper, give him a pat on the bum and send him back out on the street.

Mr Judge is the only one on this list that doesn't have to answer to anybody for his job.

If we want to make some changes we will have to make some noise. More noise than just visiting with friends on A/O. Phone/write/email your county or town Council, your MLA, your MP. Tell them what you want or don't want and make it clear you want change.

And remember...the person who BUYS stolen property is every bit as much a DIRTBAG as the low life scum that steals it!!!!!
Regards,
Dave.

The older Polaris quad. Is it a 400 4 x 4 with no license and a taped up seat? There is one that showed up on the trapline today. No one around.

Default I'd consider..................

Posting the serial # on the BC Outdoors Forum as well as Sask.It will make it tougher to sell and perhaps increase the odds of getting the people/person responsible for the theft. My buddy keeps a rottie to discourage dirtbags from stealing fuel and anything else shiny.Shame they wouldn't put through the "castle law" where lethal force can be used to protect home and property. No repeat offenders.
