2013 moose down
7mm Rem Mag shooting 160 gr. Nosler accubonds. Hit her twice on the run. She was with a bull and a calf. My second moose to date. Last moose I shot was in 2006 and I was 14.

Congrats on the moose.
Serious question though - you have posted quite a few pics up over the past few years. Why look so serious all the time? Like never even a hint of a grin.
Come on, OP, you take some really good field pics, but look like you want to kill the camera man...........

Congrats on the moose!! One thing I noticed is that your bolt is open. Thank you. We see a lot of pics with closed bolts and just can't help but wonder if the hunter is smiling over a hot barrel or not. Makes ME shudder anyway.

Thanks. Winchester model 70. I always look angry when I'm hunting, but I'm glad I got my moose tag filled today. Could care less about my whitetail deer now, but I'll probably still go for one.

Nice catch and a good point. I also like the way the OP got the animal rolled up and posed. Too many of us get in a rush and forget about the small stuff that makes for great field pictures. Too many of mine are flat out and half covered by grass or I have it framed wrong with the backdrop.
Don't take the smiling comments to heart I only see lots of good natured congrats.

Of course he will, they ran off together after I chased them off the kill. Even a coyote joined them. One big happy family.

Check out back drop of pic. That look like prime wolf habitat? The reason we have cow moose tags is because moose in this landscape tend to wander in front of vehicles. So if you get a cow moose tag you shoot a cow moose. Most folks in rural areas want less moose, not more. That calf will be fine. It will wander into a willow slough and winter ok in agricultural area.....or the next guy along with a moose tag will settle the matter. So really what is the point??
The bull if he was a little guy may have been last years calf. If it was an older one then maybe the cow was coming into heat a second time.
Like Hal says enjoy and go find a big deer!
