Default I forgot how great it is!

I haven't been pheasant hunting since 2008 when I was stationed in South Dakota so today was probably the most fun, my solo Alberta trip aside, I've had in two-three years hunting. A HUGE thank you to another forum member for taking me out. Other than a buddies Brittany in early 2000s I've never hunted over a pointer and watching his dog work today was absolutely incredible! The amount of energy that's transferred from that dogs legs to the ground when he goes into a STONE point in .0000007 seconds amazed me! Just awesome.

I'd love to guess on how many miles that dog covered in our 1.5 hours of walking but I'm fearful it would be 10 miles to short. Previously when I've seen/read the traditional lab vs pointer upland debate I always thought to myself "I feel like my lab could run with a pointer, I mean she has a a lot of energy". Couldn't be further from the truth after watching the ground this dog covered. Awesome awesome day and I'm forever grateful that two years ago he talked me into coming down to the club to shoot some skeet as he has become quite a mentor and a friend.

Those pics are very awesome. I haven't hunted upland birds since I was the dog and had to fetch the chickens my Grandpa shot but after seeing those pics I'd seriously consider getting into it. Looks like it was a blast. BTW that's a beautiful lab you have there.

Thank you. She will likely be my lifetime dog. She'll be 4 years old in January and I hope to get one litter out of her and then have her altered.

Its a Huglu 103FE that I bought when I was in Turkey. Not a very high end gun but I bought it because its a conversation piece and it meant something to me to buy something from there. It goes boom every time and it swings nicely, not as nice as my Citori but it looks better.
